Phase-change memory: something worth at least knowing about
Friday, January 01, 2010File this under stuff you don’t need to be an expert in, but you should sort of know about. I picked up this story on slashdot. As I understand it, PCM is a memory that changes states based on temperature differences rather than electric . It also seems the sexy thing about PCM is it is byte-addressable rather than page addressable. Here’s a PDF describing PCM.
Expert in byte-addressable memory? No way. Aware of new, emerging technologies? Yea.
